Mount Elbert


Today I'm off to climb an actual mountain. Outdoors. With no stairs. And presumably no cats or Lego underfoot. At 4401 meters Mount Elbert in Colorado is the highest peak in the Rockies, American or Canadian, but the climb starts quite high because all of Colorado is essentially a high plateau. Depending which trailhead we use the elevation gain will be 1351 meters. Or 250 stairway ascents in my house. If one were counting that sort of thing...
