Mount Vesuvius

Vesuvius:
-Destroyer of Pompeii in 79 AD.
-Highest volcano on the European mainland.
-Still active and still a threat to the 3 million people living in its shadow.
-1251 metres from the base to the summit.
-232 times up my stairs and 232 times down my stairs.


This took me about two and a half hours plus a twenty minute break half-way. I was really beginning to feel it in my knees after about the two-hundredth lap. I'll definitely need new, better shock-absorbing, shoes before tackling Everest. I have a hard time imagining doing 646 cycles in a row, so I will have to build in more and longer breaks. That's far in the future though. Very very far in the future from the way I feel after those 232 cycles...
